Old-World Winter Wedding in Saint Moritz, Switzerland

Jamie and Nik invited their guests to travel to the magical mountains of St. Moritz for a three days winter wedding that celebrated family, traditions and old-world glamour. An entire wedding weekend of amazing events has been created, celebrating old-world Sankt Moritz yet preserving the natural charm of each venue. Working around the concept of “timeless elegance”, color palette and choice of materials were inspired by a timeless style, with silverware, velvet and candelabras. The use of perfect lighting framed the amazing sceneries.

On the first night guests were welcomed for a mountain-top ski pre-wedding party at Paradiso Mountain Club in St Moritz, with a chalet-chic dress code and a throw-back to the 60s.

Guests were greeted with bull shots and blankets, before taking a short chairlift ride up to the mountain at dusk to get to the picturesque venue.

High above Sankt Moritz, overlooking a pair of alpine lakes and surrounded by the beauty of the Alps, the Mountain Club precedes its reputation and mountain life shows its most beautiful side.

Upon arrival, guests enjoyed Aperol Spritz before sitting down to a traditional Swiss dinner that quickly turned into a live party, with a famous Swiss band performing among the tables and a renowned DJ playing until late in the night.

On Friday guests were hosted for the rehearsal Dinner at the iconic Chesa Veglia in Sankt Moritz for a night of pizza and old-world glamour.

Chesa Veglia is a farmhouse built in 1685 and the eponymous pizzeria is located in the former hayloft. It’s a traditional Italian restaurant with lot of charm and a lively atmosphere.

Guests mingled for cocktails downstairs in the member’s club, before meandering upstairs into the Chesa’s intimate rooms for a seated pre-wedding dinner.

The theme for the night, “Club Huth,” graced casual pizzeria-style tables with custom plates designed by the bride.

In between speeches, guests enjoyed homemade white pizza made in Chesa Veglia’s wood-burning ovens, while dressed to the nines in cocktail attire.
On Saturday morning bride and groom opted for a traditional morning wedding ceremony at the lovely 14th century San Gian church, a short drive away from St. Moritz. Following the intimate ceremony, guests enjoyed donuts and hot cider at the base of the church, while skiers and on-lookers waited to shower the newlywed couple with petals as they departed from the Church. Later that evening, guests reunited at the storied Badrutt’s Palace in Saint Moritz for the wedding reception, with a classy dress code recalling Jackie-Kennedy days. After a champagne toast in the famous lobby, guests searched for their escort cards on an incredible flower display created by our team, as they entered the ballroom. A non-traditional reception layout has been magnificently planned by our team of creative designers, skipping the dance floor and instead centering the room around a grand piano to create a more intimate feeling. The room was a whimsical take on old glamour with tables adorned with silver cutlery, Ginori china, unexpected florals and crystal candlesticks tied with billowing red ribbons. Guests danced the night away in the center of the room as Jamie and Nik cut into their wedding cake. After cake-cutting, guests moved to King’s Social House where they danced until early morning.
A superb long wedding weekend centered around traditions, timeless elegance and the charm of vintage Sankt Moritz, perfectly designed, planned and managed by our expert team of creative wedding planners. We are sure you will lose yourself in this dream of sophisticated dresses, suave table settings and graceful décor!!
